Piper

Piper began dancing locally, at age 7, continuing on through her school and competitive team. She enjoyed dancing in the Sacramento Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker growing up and has trained in Ballet, Pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, tap, modern, acro, and musical theatre. Piper later studied dance at Cal State Fullerton and is versed in Classical Ballet, Cecchetti and Balanchine technique. She has taught at various studios in the L.A. and surrounding Sacramento areas and dances professionally with RAE Model and Talent Agency. Piper is extremely proud and excited to be an integral part of Première School of Dance.
Angela

Angela started dancing at 3 and is trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical, with experience in tap, belly dance, and West African. She was a high school cheerleader and dancer, receiving the All-American dance award and performing at the Hula Bowl in Maui. Angela danced for American River College and Sacramento State University, where the team won 1st place in the 2005 Collegiate National Championships in Hip Hop. Professionally, she danced with Hip Entertainment for 18 years and has been a dance instructor for over 20 years, specializing in Jazz and Hip Hop. She holds a degree in Family Studies and works in social services, blending her expertise in child development with her passion for dance. Angela is excited to share her love for dance with us, implementing effective training and education to advance her students’ knowledge, technique, and strength, while fostering a safe and inclusive space for artistic expression and creativity.
Mikiah

Mikiah has been dancing in companies since the age of 9. He has experience in Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Ballet, Modern, Acrobatics and Contemporary. He is currently studying at Folsom Lake College earning his AA in dance as an aspiring professional dancer. In a few years Mikiah will continue his education by majoring in dance at the University Level. His goal in teaching is to cultivate a classroom full of inclusivity and fun, as well as focusing on the techniques and building strong well-rounded dancers. He is hoping that his love for dance will be shown through his teaching and that his students will find dance as enjoyable and interesting as he does.
Eliza

Eliza’s dance journey started with her extensive family history of professional dancers. From her Grandfather’s past in professional ballet, to her Mom’s professional dance and teaching career, and more, dance was bound to be in her blood. Realizing her passion at a young age, Eliza asked her mom to teach her Latin ballroom and ballet right at home. At age 11, Eliza continued exploring and performing different styles of dance at a local Sacramento studio and later in her high school, as well as attending gymnastics classes on the side. With a particular love for Musical Theater and storytelling, she went on to teach various styles of dance, and gymnastics, at local studios in Sacramento, all while studying child psychology and development, and helping children of different needs in schools. She is excited to join the Première team and share her passion for storytelling and evoking emotion through dance!
Nicki

Nicki began dancing at age four in her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. After taking a break to study voice, she reignited her passion for dance during her teenage years, later becoming a part of Energy In Motion Dance Company and Matrix Dance Improv. Nicki has studied RAD and Cecchetti Ballet, Pointe and Variations, Jazz, Tap, Character Dance, Modern, and Musical Theater. In pursuit of her artistic aspirations, Nicki relocated to Sacramento in 2019 to pursue a music degree with an emphasis on Classical Voice and Opera under the direction of Robin Fisher. She has continued to enrich her dance education through classes at Sacramento State University. Nicki is happy to have found a home at such a welcoming and loving studio like Première, where she eagerly anticipates inspiring students with her enthusiasm for dance.
Tydiss

Tydiss discovered his passion for dance at the age of 12 and has since made a profound impact on his hometown of Stockton. He was recognized as a pioneering figure in the arts during his time in High School. Tydiss made history as the first young black male to establish a dance studio in Stockton at the age of 20. His journey spans involvement in dance clubs, local competitions in Stockton and Sacramento, and a diverse range of dance genres including Ballet, Hip-Hop, Bachata, Tap, Contemporary, Afro, Jazz, B-Boy, Locking, Freestyle, and lyrical.
Over 12 years, Tydiss has honed his craft and diversified his roles as a music artist, MC, performer, backup dancer, and professional choreographer for dance teams, local studios, and events across Stockton and Sacramento. With aspirations to expand his influence, Tydiss aims to achieve renown as a music artist and choreographer eventually plans to establish a dance studio in Sacramento.
Tydiss eagerly anticipates the opportunity to educate and inspire students at Première with his passion and expertise.
Laura

Laura began her dance journey in the heart of Sacramento, CA at the tender age of ten at Broadway Academy of the Performing Arts. Her devotion to movement led her to attain a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA, and upon graduating she relocated to the dance mecca of the world, New York, where she lived and breathed modern dance. With an unquenchable ardor for dance fueling her every step, Laura has ventured into a diverse array of styles and techniques throughout the years. From the grace of classical Ballet and the innovation of Modern dance to the pulsating rhythms of Brazilian Samba and the body-to-body free flow of Contact Improvisation, her exploration knows no bounds. Performing and traveling to numerous theaters, festivals, and events has provided fulfillment of her lifelong dancer's dream. Now with a sense of rekindled enthusiasm for the role of her early training, Laura is thrilled to reconnect with her local dance community through teaching. She hopes to weave her wealth of experiences into an inspiring tapestry for all her students at any stage of their dance development.
